This is the first episode of Inside Ambiti8n, a nine-part series in which each of the eight partner companies tells the story of what they built, why it was hard, and what it made possible. Together these eight stories form the complete arc of how a production-ready federated AI platform was built by eight European teams across four countries in four months.
The project: Ambiti8n
Ambiti8n is a federated AI platform developed within WorkStream 3 of the 8ra Initiative under IPCEI-CIS, the European Union's €3B cloud and edge infrastructure programme. Eight specialist companies across Italy, Poland, Slovenia, and Hungary built 13 interoperable components and demonstrated a fully working clinical AI application live at the 8ra Annual Summit 2026 in Rotterdam.
The platform solves a fundamental problem: how do you train and deploy AI models on sensitive data that cannot leave the hospital? The answer is federated learning. The AI travels to the data, not the other way around. Patient data never moves. Knowledge does.
Result's role: the application, the data pipeline, and the AI model
Result, based in Slovenia, was responsible for the most visible and most complex layer of the Ambiti8n stack: the clinician-facing application, the local data pipeline running inside each hospital, and the CNN-LSTM model that detects sleep apnea from biometric sensor data. If Ambiti8n is the platform the clinician sees, Result built what the clinician sees and everything that feeds it.
Their application, eEarly, is the interface through which the entire system delivers its value to healthcare professionals. Below is Result's own introduction to what eEarly is and why it matters.
eEarly's mission is straightforward: transform health data into actionable insights that help healthcare professionals recognise risks earlier and provide better care.
Helping healthcare spot problems earlier
Healthcare professionals often only see a snapshot of a person's health during appointments. eEarly changes that by providing continuous health monitoring through digital technology.
What is eEarly?
eEarly is a digital health platform that collects and analyses biometric data from commonly available health sensors. Its purpose is simple: help healthcare providers identify potential health issues earlier, allowing faster intervention and better care.
Designed for modern healthcare environments, eEarly focuses on ease of use, security, and reliable data management.
Who can benefit from eEarly?
The platform is suitable for:
- Healthcare providers and clinics
- Care homes and elderly care services
- Researchers and universities
- Municipalities and public health organisations
- Technology and healthcare partners
eEarly is particularly valuable for use cases such as:
- Blood pressure monitoring
- Sleep apnea analysis
- Chronic disease management
- Elderly care
- Remote patient monitoring and follow-up
Why does it matter?
By analysing health data over time rather than during a single consultation, eEarly helps providers gain a more complete picture of a person's health. This can support:
- Earlier detection of health risks
- More effective patient monitoring
- Faster response to changes in health conditions
- Better-informed healthcare decisions
- Improved long-term outcomes
Built for the European digital health ecosystem
eEarly is connected to IPCEI-CIS, a major European initiative focused on next-generation cloud and edge technologies. This allows the platform to work alongside other European solutions for:
- Secure data sharing
- Cloud infrastructure
- Artificial intelligence
- Federated learning
- Advanced AI and language models
Ready for the future
eEarly has been built with flexibility in mind. New sensors, AI models, APIs and services can be integrated as healthcare needs evolve.
This ensures the platform can grow with healthcare providers, researchers and technology partners while maintaining strong standards for security, interoperability and practical everyday use.
